Homemade Chocolate Cereal

This is one of our favourite cereal recipes ever. This healthier version of chocolate cereal is crunchy, delicious and satisfying. It is gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free and refined sugar-free and very easy to make! Perfect for that sweet craving :)

Servings: up to 12 bigger portions (eaten as cereal)


-2 cups (180 g) rolled oats or fine oats
-3 cups (75 g) puffed brown rice
-75 g Loving Earth Dark Chocolate, Vivani Dark Chocolate or any other dark chocolate of your choice.
-1/3 (85 ml) to 1/4 cup (65 ml) 100% pure maple syrup (to taste)
-2 tablespoons melted extra virgin coconut oil
-1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
-Pinch sea salt


-Preheat oven to 180 °C. Finely chop the dark chocolate with a big chopping knife.

-Add the rolled oats and puffed brown rice to a bowl. Add the chopped dark chocolate, cinnamon and pinch of sea salt and mix well.

-Heat a pan and melt the coconut oil, when it’s melted add the maple syrup and stir. Add the liquid mixture into the bowl and mix immediately.

-Add the cereal mix to a baking tray and bake in the oven for 5 min. After 5 min, remove the cereal from the oven and toss it to get all the chocolate melted in properly. After mixing, place it back for another 5 minutes. Repeat this process 4 times for a total of 20 min (depending on your oven or on how crispy you like your cereal).

-Leave to cool completely. Store in an airtight container to keep fresh.

-We love it with some cold Isola Almond Milk.
